  4. Thanks for all your suggestions on earlier versions of QUACK.

  6. RELEASE NOTES

  9. This version of QUACK is shareware. Please read the information under 
  10. Help|Registration, and register within 30 days if you wish to continue using
  11. the product. You will then receive version 2.1 or later as soon as it is
  12. available.
  13.  
  14. If you have previously registered for any version of QUACK, you do NOT need
  15. to register again to upgrade your current version.

  18. New features since V1.5
  19. ------------------------
  20.  
  21. QUACK version 2.0 has a number of major new features:
  22.  
  23. Fourier Synthesis - create your own waveforms in an easy to use
  24. dialog box.
  25.  
  26. Mixer - mix up to 4 signals. This adds to the merger and modulator
  27. componants already available, of course.
  28.  
  29. Constant - a handy way of producing a constant value signal, if you
  30. ever need to.
  31.  
  32. Compact view - cram more componants onto your screen to help when
  33. editing complicated patch maps.

  35. New features since V1.03

  38. These new features have been available since V1.5 (just for those
  39. of you who are upgrading from V1.03):

  41. Full visual editing, and a number of user interface improvements, make V1.5
  42. much, much easier to use. For instance:
  43.  
  44. - create your componants from the Componants palette (enabled by the
  45.   View|Componants menu)
  46. - connect componants with the mouse. Click on the first (output) componant
  47.   and drag to the other componant.
  48. - edit a componant by double clicking on it.
  49. - click the right mouse button on a componant to popup a menu to delete
  50.   connections and componants.

  52. WAV file import - incorporate real sound samples in amongst all the other
  53. electronic effects already available in QUACK. You now have a powerful (and
  54. visual) sound processing engine.
  55.  
  56. Test your sounds from within QUACK. The "Play" button works!!! Now you can
  57. choose a working file in advance, then your modify-create-play loop becomes
  58. quick and easy. No more incessant "File Save" dialogs.

  61. Features which didn't quite make it

  65. Help file, did not quite make it into this release.
